You Need a Coach

You need a coach.

Everyone needs a coach.

I am a firm believer in having someone available to provide productive feedback.

This person may come in many forms such as a coach, mentor, teacher, guide, consultant, guru, inspirator, tutor, motivator, therapist, trainer, someone you look up to, etc.

And this applies to so many areas of life such as personal relationships, education, business, health & fitness…the list goes on.

I miss having a strength coach and another outlet for me to train at away from my everyday life.

I miss having a 1-on-1 business mentor/coach for awhile now…although that’s about to change 😉

I’m definitely thankful for my running coach, Rea Kolbl 😁

But all-in-all, it’s important to have someone you can reach out to for guidance and support.

For example, today I did a strength workout at my fitness coaching center Renov8 Fitness, which I built on the same lot as my home.

I procrastinated and was in a time crunch to get as much done as I could before my live fitness coaching session for my clients.

I skimped on my warm-up, I rushed through my core work, I did less strength sets, and I did not have the right mindset in this session.

In fact my mind has been off all week from just being overloaded with work…I’ve been so busy during COVID-19, which I am grateful for 🙏🏼

Today I wanted to capture some videos of my workout to post on social media (you can view them HERE) and I did not pay enough attention to my deadlift form.

Check out the first video. You may not even notice anything wrong, but I know my body.

I allowed my hips to get a little too low for my liking, which caused my knees to come forward, which then caused me to get slightly off kilter, etc., etc., etc.

Our body is a chain and every link is connected. The movement of one link affects another link and so on.

So, now I feel discomfort in my low back just a little bit 😩

My point with all of this is that I need and want a coach.

I know how to properly workout.

I know better than to rush and/or skip my warm-up.

I know the tempo at which I should move in each exercise.

I know the amount of rest I should take in-between sets.

I know better…a coach needs a coach.

I can’t coach myself.

One of the most common reasons people choose me as their fitness coach is because of my attention to detail and the personalization I deliver to each and every client at Renov8 Fitness.

They’ve told me this time and time again 😊 (I inherited this OCD-like quality from my mother and it works fabulously well in fitness).

Just like I need a coach, so do my clients.

You need a coach.

We all must seek out others if we want appropriate feedback in life.

I’d love to hear your thoughts. What do you think about this? When have you had a coach?
